Movie Summary

At the end of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Season 2, a one-minute teaser trailer of a Suzumiya Haruhi no Shōshitsu movie was released and later put on Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu’s official Japanese website. Minutes later, an announcement was made that a scheduled Japanese release of the The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya Movie was on February 6th, 2010 in movie theatres in Japan. This trailer has excited many, many Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu fans around Japan and in North America, including myself. The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya is the fourth volume of Nagaru Tanigawa’s series of light novels, where the manga and anime originated from, that involves Kyon waking up one day to discover that his world has been changed: Yuki Nagato is a regular human girl WHO SHOWS EMOTION ohmygodguys, Mikuru Asahina doesn’t know him at all, Itsuki Koizumi doesn’t exist at his school due to his previous “mysterious transfer student” role, Ryoko Asakura is once again at his school as a popular human girl, and most of all, Haruhi Suzumiya is exactly the way she was before she met Kyon, and does not have the ability to recreate the world as she pleases. Life is exactly the way Kyon wanted it to be forever, but he later discovers he wants everything back the way it is because that alternate reality was what shaped him into the sarcastic person we know and love as Kyon. OH. MY. GOD. If I hadn’t been controlled enough to post the description of TVoHS, I would be FREAKING OUT right now …
