There used to be an online game based on running a virtual movie theater. What was its name?

This web-based game put the player in the position of a theater manager, who managed concession prices and determined what movies to carry and on how many screens. Points were awarded weekly based on the real-world average screen revenue for released films. Some complexity entered the game regarding studio contracts and ticket prices.

I believe this game is defunct, but what was its name and is there anything out there that covers the same ground (besides HSX, which is a completely different concept)?

Online Movie Piracy Continues To Soar, Says MPAA Study

Despite its best efforts to curb online movie piracy, the number of films being downloaded continues to rise, the Motion Picture Association of America revealed in a study released in Belgium Tuesday. According to the study, more than 2.5 billion movies were downloaded worldwide in 2005 — a 250-percent increase over the previous year. (The MPAA’s figures have been hotly disputed by other Internet analysts.) The study also indicated that at any one time, 17 million people are downloading movies via peer-to-peer websites. Most of the movies available via those sites were originally recorded in theaters by persons in their seats holding camcorders, the study said.

Does this mean that the honest paying will continue to pay higher ticket prices ,higher DVD prices because of this?Why isn’t the MPAA actually going after these people for?What’s stopping them?

ok i have this thing that says i get a free movie ticket to see hellboy 2 but how do i get it from online?

it says on the little sticket thing that i got from a movie. it says how to redeem log onto www.HoTixForCoolFlicks.com then enter the code and print out the cerficate and take to theaters but i go to website and cant figure out what part i hit to put code in. can someone help please?

Is it ok for people to watch movies for free online and why ?

My personal opinion is ……….. I love going to the movie theatre, I love the experience you get at a theatre, the big screen, the popcorn, its a great way to go out and have a good time BUT over the years I have watch the city I live in go from being country to city, the theatre used to cost $2 for a movie but since then they have tore down every building and made the city into a shopping/ tourist destination , now movie tickets are $13 a person, thats just the ticket ………… popcorn is 3.50 for a small and 6.50 for a large , soda is 2.50 for a small and 4.75 for a large and dont even get me started on the candy and dont forget to add tax. Overall you end up spending around $50 for a movie. I think spending this much money is crazy for a movie, I think it is ok to watch movies online but if its a movie you have been looking forward too than I think you should see it in the theatre for a better experience.

Can I pay for concert tickets online using a Prepaid Visa Gift Card?

I bought a $100 gift card from CVS and i wanted to know could i use it online to buy concert tickets online.
this is what the paper says
“The Gift Card can be used at retailers, resturants, amusement parks, sporting events, movie and other theaters, spas, salons and certain other merchants that are located in the United States that except the American Express Card, including mail order, online and brick and mortar establishments. The Gift Card cannot be used at airline, cruise line, hotel, car rental, telecom merchants, or at casinos or ATMs.”
But im still unsure if i will be able to buy concert tickets.. i need to know before 5pm because thats when the tickets go on sale.

if so where, and how do you know for sure that the theater near you is going to be selling them, and showing the movie? I went on thisisittickets or something but all i could do was register for a notification of when they go on sale..i already know that, but how is this going to work??

buying Eclipse tickets online?

I’m buying tickets online for Eclipse, but I’m kinda confused on something. I went on fandango.com and i chose the theatre and the movie but when it says show dates and i chose june 29th at 12:01am. but wouldn’t that be june 30th? and i’m 12 but i could pass for 14. would they let me in? thanks for the help!
my mom would be there, so i don’t see why they wouldn’t.
