Over the passage of time, Raj gets bitter with the concept of love when the love marriage of his eldest daughter fails. His youngest daughter Esha – Kareena Kapoor falls in love with Ronit – Hrithik Roshan, the only son of LK and Nalini, much to the chagrin of the Malhotras and Raj who is vehemently against their relationship.
