A good year, really. There were only a few spots where I’d say they got it wrong, a far cry from the very next year.

@Znakebit What if they gave the part to some other good actor, like say Jack Nicholson or something, I don’t know. It still wouldn’t portray the part of a scary mentally insane villian as good. Even if he reminded you of the Terminator, can you not agree that the actual character in the movie was intimidating?

@funkynubman
Ok, I speaking about the performance, Anton Chigurh is one of my favorite movie villians, andI love Terminator, but Bardem performance is AWFUL! The character is the same, the only difference is that one is a robot, but the way in which both characters have to be performance is exactly the same. Just answer my this question: If the Academy gave the Oscar to Bardem why they didn“t gave it to Schwarzeneger or at least a nomination??

@Znakebit : You’re not helping the point. The Terminator is pretty awesome.
And by the way, I’m pretty sure The Terminator has an Austrian accent and Javier Bardem has a slight Spanish accent. In my opinion, and most people, and the Academy, Javier Bardem put on a pretty compelling movie villain. He might be speaking in monotone, but that’s his character: Calm but intimidating at the same time.

@hrondraco1
Murder with mental issuas an cold heart? So what? Schwarzeneger performances a ROBOT, not even has heart!!!! I say, if the Academy gave the Oscar to Bardem, why not give it to Schwarzeneger??? Come on man, any other actor can interpretate that role.

100% agree with you man

@Znakebit You do understand Javier’s role was a cold heartless murderer with mental issues up the wazoo. You think someone with those traits, someone who did the things he did in the movie, would be anything close to normal, close to what you somehow have in your mind as how a sick twisted murderer should act?

Let me clarify some things:
Javier Brdem was totally UNDESERVED!!! He practically performances Terminator!!! Just look at his expressions, movements, his way to speak, even there a scene in which he cure himself and it make me to remember the fisrt Terminator movie!!! Javier Bardem was AWFUL!!! That’s the simple truth.
