How old can a person be in order to buy rated r movie tickets for other people?

I’ve heard that you’d have to be 18 and others say 21, I honestly don’t know_Can someone please verify this to me_Thanx!

    okay you have to be twenty one to buy other people their tickets but you can buy your own at eighteen. that’s what’s happened for me and what i’ve been told by the people at the movie theaters but it probably depends on the movie theater.

    “The R rating means that any child under the age of 17 may be allowed into the movie only if he/she will be viewing the movie with his/her parent or adult guardian. ”

    So technically you should have to have your parent or guardian. Most theaters don’t follow this and will sell to you if you are with an 18 or 21 year old buddy, depending on the theater.
